A miraculous outcome of the conservative treatment of odontogenic keratocyst: A unique case report

Background: The odontogenic keratocyst (OKC), earlier referred as the keratocystic tumor, is a distinctive form of developmental cyst. OKC unique because its distinguishing clinical features, including potentially aggressive behavior, high recurrence rate and an association with nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome. Treatment options includes from conservative approach to extensive surgeries marsupialization, enucleation or segmental resection. We hereby report case massive mandible, which was treated conservatively outstanding results.Methodology: A 27 year old male patient presented complaint swelling lower jaw since one year. His past history revealed trauma due self fall 15 years ago. Examination single, well-defined, irregular seen over extending angle other both buccal lingual cortical plate expansion along egg shell crackling. Radiographical examination unilocular radiolucency paper thin border. On histopathological it diagnosed keratocyst. managed under local anaesthesia followed up by iodoform dressing every week Carnoy’s solution application alternate week.Results: regular follow year, significant improvement formation healthy bone respect plates floor defect noted.Conclusion: Conservative management meticulous ups can successfully manage massively overwhelmingly miraculous results.
